a lil East Coast help

Wed Sep 11, 2013 11:40 am by mintjulips

Hey old friends,

Been thinking of ZAPP! Hope the volunteers are well and the zine library is in positive thoughts. I've connected with several zine libraries on the East Coast, and I was wondering if it would be helpful to submit brief case studies to the committee?

Would be interested in hearing an update too!

Square Feet

Mon May 20, 2013 4:09 pm by RemyN

Hey guys-
At the meeting yesterday, we were trying to figure out how many square feet ZAPP is. Michael Hayes, the facilities manager at Richard Hugo House, just emailed me and said ZAPP is 250-300 square feet.

Shunpike consultation - 5/14 or 5/24

Tue May 07, 2013 12:50 am by tylerhauck

Emily is kind of spearheading this effort but I thought I could make a thread about it. On either Tuesday, May 14 or Friday, May 24 (we're trying to nail that down), we're getting a low-cost ($30 for 30 minutes I think?) consultation from Shunpike. Let's use this thread to help Emily prepare for that!

It's a short consult and we're still not headed in a definite direction, so we're …

Keeping Zapp open to public and volunteers

Mon Jun 17, 2013 12:43 pm by iheartzines

I would really like to keep Zapp open to the public and to volunteers who would like to work there. In the recent Stranger article about Zapp, it was mentioned that Zapp could just use a lump sum of money to kick start itself to a space where this could still happen. I don't how accurate this comment was, but if it was accurate, depending upon how much the sum was, I would be more than willing …

Tue May 21, 2013 1:03 am by tylerhauck

The next ZAPP meeting is scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at 3:00 p.m. Venue TBD.

EDIT: a new time of 11:30 a.m. has been proposed so the meeting doesn't overlap with ZAPP open hours. Venue still TBD.

Possible space in repurposed school in Central District

Wed Jun 05, 2013 1:47 am by tylerhauck

We're on the list of interested parties for this space. Not committed to anything now obviously. Mike said they're looking to sign a lease "mid summer" and move in tenants "as quickly as possible after some repairs have been done to the building." We need more info:
- …

IPRC photos and details

Mon May 27, 2013 7:56 pm by Violet@ZAPP

Here's a set of photos that show some of the awesome stuff that the IPRC (Independent Publishing Resource Center) in Portland has in their new space:

They offer their workspace and equipment to the public at an hourly rate ($5/hour) or through their membership program ($55-100/year). Their website says: "This …
